The challenge
Where they started
Let Them Know She Is Here: Searching for the Queen of Mleiha is the memoir of Bodour Al Qasimi, the Emirati author, publisher and founder of Kalimat Group, who is also a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and former President of the International Publishers Association. The book weaves memory, myth and Sharjah's heritage, so its website needed to feel as evocative as the writing, introduce the author, gather reviews and events, point readers to the book in English and Arabic wherever they live, and prepare for the audiobook and journal releases.
Goals
- An immersive design worthy of the book
- Reach readers in English and Arabic
- Lead readers to the book wherever they are
Our solution
What we built
We designed and built a custom, single-page experience in warm desert tones with elegant serif typography, an animated Arabic calligraphy intro and a vinyl-style audiobook player. Content is managed in WordPress and delivered through a dedicated REST API, so the team can update reviews, events and stockists without touching code. The full site is available in English and Arabic with a right-to-left layout and Arabic typefaces, and sections cover the author, the book, the upcoming audiobook and journal with notify-me sign-ups, a store linking to Kalimat's shop, reader reviews, events, social highlights and a stockist finder by country.
